Next season there will be some new rules introduced that will make a significant difference to the game. The full text of the rules can be found on the FIH web site but reading rules written down is seldom as clear has having it explained.
Fortunately UNSW Hockey Club have made this video to try and explain the new rules for players and umpires at club level. It goes through the new rules and how they apply in detail and we would recommend that you watch it several times before the start of the new season.
If you would like to see these rules in action they are being used in the Euro Hockey League, the finals of which will be shown on online over the weekend of 30-31 May.
