About Warwick Hockey Club

For over a century, Warwick Hockey Club has been an institution in the heart of one of the Midland's most picturesque towns.
We benefit from four great venues:
- Our Clubhouse is a superb Victorian sports pavilion situated next to Warwick racecourse. With bar, changing, pool, and darts facilities, this is the social hub of the club.
- We play all of our winter league games at Warwick School. Its two superb Astroturf pitches are within sight of the imposing Medieval Castle.
- We play veterans and some summer games in St Nicholas Park. The recently resurfaced Astro is set in a picturesque park just yards from the centre of Warwick.
- We play some summer games at Aylesford School. This brand new pitch is just a stone's throw away from our Clubhouse.
Our sections:
- Our vibrant Junior Section train every Wednesday and play in numerous tournaments.
- Our Women's Section runs four Saturday sides and are at the heart of the social calendar.
- Our Men's Section runs six sides, catering for players of all abilities.
We are always keen to welcome new members.
We cater for players of all abilities, providing excellent coaching, playing and social facilities for the whole club.
Why not join us and enjoy great hockey, a social event every month and three tours (home and abroad) a year.
We'd love to hear from you!
Starting them young at Warwick Hockey Club

The following article was published by our friends at The Courier at the start of the 2008/09 season. We hope it gives you more of an insight into what we're about!
"WARWICK Hockey Club launches its new season with a club day on Saturday September 12, 1pm onwards at their impressive home pitches at Warwick School’s Gallows Hill site.
There is action on and off the pitch with the men’s 1st and the ladies' 1st teams taking on local rivals. The day will feature trial games and activities for families including a bouncy castle and a gladiator challenge.
A full range of kit and equipment from club supplier SilverFX will be on sale and the day will end with a social event for members, their families and friends at the clubhouse, with a barbecue from 5pm.
Warwick hockey Club fields five men’s sides and four ladies’ teams in Saturday leagues, plus a midweek veteran's side, but puts the emphasis on youth. Weekly coaching sessions have attracted some 80 juniors.
The club recognises its future strength depends on established players being successful on the pitch, combined with investment to produce quality quality and enthusiasm among its younger members.
Warwick employs four professional coaches to look after its senior sides and has a dozen or so members with national qualifications who focus on the younger players.
The benefits of this were seen over the last two seasons, with three of the league sides gaining promotion - now both the ladies’ and men's first teams play at Midlands regional level again.
This season sees further development at youth level with the advent of a new Vixens team (under-13 girls) formed to play at county level. The initiative for this new league came from the Warwick club.
The club also has a strong social aspect, organising events such as dinners and quizzes, plus more informal getherings at the Hampton Road clubhouse (opposite Warwick Race Course).
All league home games are played at the Warwick Schools’ Foundation pitches. Training times for the coming season are yet to be confirmed but probable times are Men’s 1st team and Ladies 3rd/4ths and vixens to train on Tuesdays 7pm to 9pm whilst Wednesdays see the juniors (6.3Opm to 7.3Opm) followed by the Men's lower sides and ladies 1st and 2nd teams (7pm to 9pm) in action. Newcomers of all abilities are always welcome.
More details about the rapidly expanding and developing club and its plans for the season are on its recently re-launched website (www.warwickhockey.co.uk)."
